We were so lucky to work with Amy. She made the college search and application process feel organized and stress-free. Our daughter was very proactive and worked closely with Amy’s team. We always felt confident she was being guided thoughtfully. We trusted Amy completely to help our daughter make the right decisions and apply to colleges that were a great fit for her.

From the very beginning of the college process, Amy was so helpful! Instead of jumping right into essays, she spent time getting to know me on a personal level and helped me figure out what I wanted to do in the future. Chris is also awesome, he worked with my schedule and he helped my essays so much!

We feel so very lucky to have had Amy and her outstanding team walking alongside us for the past two years, as our daughter has applied to colleges. I’m so impressed with how thorough of a process Amy takes her students through, from having them interview people in careers they’re interested in, completing personality tests, she helps lay the groundwork of what they are looking for before starting to researching colleges. My husband and I came from very different perspectives in our own college experiences, and Amy helped us navigate this gracefully, helping us keep the focus on our daughter and her needs. Last, Amy’s service is unique in offering an in-person essay boot camp prior to senior year. We now realize how incredibly valuable this was for our daughter, who enjoyed the camaraderie and was so grateful to be 90 percent done with essays before the busyness of senior year began. We are now witnessing the benefits of Amy’s expertise with our daughter being admitted to many schools that are great fits for her. We already plan to have our younger daughter (a very different student) to work with Amy. Can’t recommend Amy and her team highly enough!

I had no idea where to start with the college process and it was difficult to know who could provide me the right information and who would not judge my progress or ideas and Amy was such a wonderful person to work with to feel free from that burden. I felt more relieved after every session and feel more knowledgeable about the college process. She made me feel more confident as a writer and helped me narrow down the options of what I really want from a college and the effort it would take do accomplish it. For now we are working on college decisions and the financial process of affording college and I hope students continue to learn and work with her in this difficult journey!

Amy Macy is an outstanding college counselor who supports both students and parents. She kept my son accountable while reducing the stress and conflicts that can arise during the college process. She offers a great balance of high expectations, rigor, kindness and respect for her students. Her structured approach and early summer workshop ensured my son was prepared before senior year, making deadlines (almost :)) stress-free. I’m truly grateful for her expertise and compassion.

Working with Amy at Macy College Consulting was a huge help for our family. Amy was super organized and kept our daughter on track with every deadline and requirement. She helped her thoughtfully narrow down her college list by encouraging real research and asking insightful, thought-provoking questions—both to our daughter and to us as parents. Amy was always available for any little question we had, and she introduced us to several schools we probably wouldn’t have found on our own. Her team also gave really helpful essay feedback, and provided interview prep, which took a lot of stress off. We genuinely would have been lost without Amy. She brought clarity, structure, and comfort to what can be an overwhelming process. We’re still waiting to hear back from most schools, but so far we’re 2 for 2! We’re so grateful for Amy and her team and couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Amy is freaking awesome!! I felt so prepared to do all of my college applications and I felt so confident going into my senior year after all of her help throughout the summer. She is so organized and consistent and her process is very thorough. She has a ton of experience, and I highly recommend going to her for college help, especially when writing your college essay and understanding the whole application process.
